Blue and Cream Linen Kid's Quilt / Play Mat / Lap Quilt 3

A beautiful handmade quilt that would be perfect as a baby or toddler quilt / play mat, or as an adult lap quilt for cosy times on the sofa!

This is a three-colour take on a classic checkerboard design, which adds a fun twist to a classic style while still remaining timeless. 

The wiggly quilt lines also add a playful touch - they make a great car race track for little ones or simply give a modern take on the checkers for anyone looking for something unique to add to their home decor. 

The top and binding is made of a gorgeous thick linen which is sturdy enough to make it a great surface for a play mat, but soft enough to still be a snuggly quilt. It will also soften over time with use. 

These fabrics were end-of-the-roll cuts and therefore limited in quantity. This quilt is one of three - each are similar but all have different combinations and binding colour meaning this is a completely one of a kind piece. 

The batting is organic cotton and the backing is 100% cotton. The blue hand-quilting thread is cotton sashiko and all other threads used are also cotton.

A lot of hand-sewing love has gone into this quilt - all quilting is done by hand, the binding is hand-finished and the labels are also attached by hand.

This is a true heirloom quality piece made to stand the test of time and become a treasured comfort quilt.
